Free diabetes screenings, expert health talks, and wellness activities bring preventive healthcare closer to Filipino communities.
As diabetes continues to affect millions of Filipinos, accessible health education and early intervention have become more important than ever. Recognizing that meaningful healthcare extends beyond hospitals and clinics, Robinsons Land with Robinsons Magnolia, in partnership with the Philippine College of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism (PCEDM), is bringing together medical experts, government partners, and the community for the Diabetes Community Fair 2026 on July 18 at the mall’s Central Garden.
The Diabetes Awareness Week
Held in observance of Diabetes Awareness Week 2026 and carrying this year’s theme, “Hawak Kamay Nating Tugunan ang Hamon ng Diabetes”, the initiative underscores the importance of collective action in addressing one of the country’s most pressing public health challenges. By creating opportunities for education, early detection, and community engagement, the event seeks to empower Filipinos to take a more proactive role in managing their health. The Diabetes Awareness Week is an annual event institutionalized under Proclamation No. 213 by President Fidel V. Ramos to promote mass public education and diabetes prevention.
Throughout the day, visitors can participate in health talks led by medical professionals, wellness sessions, community exercise activities, and interactive exhibits covering nutrition, active living, mental wellness, and disease prevention. Free health screening services, including blood sugar testing and other wellness assessments, will also be available through participating healthcare and pharmaceutical partners, encouraging early detection and greater awareness of diabetes risk factors.

The Support Community
The fair will also serve as a gathering for members of Diabarkada, PCEDM’s diabetes support community. The reunion offers individuals living with diabetes an opportunity to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another, while also encouraging families, caregivers, and friends to play an active role in supporting healthier lifestyles.
Adding to the significance of the event, the Department of Health (DOH) has confirmed its participation through Dr. Sean Aquino of the Disease Prevention and Control Bureau, highlighting the importance of collaboration among government agencies, the medical community, and the private sector in advancing preventive healthcare and improving health outcomes.
