When Women Move Together, Wellness Becomes a Community

On the afternoon of March 6, the Atrium of Eastwood Mall carried a different kind of energy.

From the moment the official E-vite began circulating, the message was already clear. The campaign called Do it Lady! hinted at a movement, one that celebrates women who choose to move, gather, and grow stronger together.

By the time guests arrived at the venue, the atmosphere reflected that promise. Fitness brands filled the space with color and activity. Women arrived in elevated athleisure, greeting friends and discovering new workout communities. SaladStop! served vibrant, nourishing food and drinks that kept conversations and energy flowing. The venue felt alive in the way only thoughtfully organized events can feel.

Everything suggested intention.

The event, presented by Megaworld Lifestyle Malls in partnership with The Philippine Star, Philstar Life, and Joyful Wellness, opened Women’s Month with a celebration of movement, vitality, and shared purpose.

Hosting the afternoon was Issa Litton, whose lively presence set the tone for the gathering. Her voice carried the rhythm of excitement that fitness communities recognize instantly, the feeling that something meaningful is beginning.

The Do it Lady! campaign itself reflects a simple but powerful idea. Throughout March, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls brings together remarkable women through a series of wellness and fitness activations across its properties. The initiative invites participants to explore new forms of movement while building connections within a supportive community.

Each week highlights a different fitness journey. Pilates, dance fitness, indoor cycling, padel, yoga, boxing, and endurance challenges will unfold across Megaworld destinations including Uptown Bonifacio, Eastwood City, Arcovia City, Forbes Town, and Venice Grand Canal.

Participants can register for sessions through a QR code, allowing them to secure limited slots and experience these activities alongside fellow women who share a commitment to wellbeing.

Behind the program stands a clear vision.

Before the event began, Tinay Villanueva, Senior Vice President and Head of Brand Creatives and Marketing of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, reflected on the growing awareness around wellness and the ways urban spaces must respond.

Megaworld developments increasingly incorporate walking trails and open areas designed to support active lifestyles. These environments allow residents and visitors to move freely, reinforcing the idea that wellness belongs within everyday life.

Her insight echoes a broader shift in how people view health. Wellness today extends beyond gyms and clinics. It appears in the spaces people inhabit, the communities they join, and the habits they cultivate together.

That perspective was visible throughout the launch.

Kux Quiogue, General Manager of Eastwood City, opened the program by encouraging every woman to take charge of her life through health and wellbeing.

Among the inspiring women present was Coach Marites Nocyao, a 2023 Southeast Asian Games gold medalist who now leads the Uptown Bonifacio Run Club. Her journey from competitive athletics to community leadership demonstrates how movement can evolve into mentorship.

Other leaders shared their own paths toward building spaces where physical activity becomes joyful rather than intimidating. These included Kris Sy of Electric Studio, Fatima Nagale of Reformer Revolution, and Marie Beatrice Mendoza of Flyweight Boxing, each representing a different corner of the wellness landscape.

Movement also found expression through dance. Milai Tamayo Imperial, professional dancer and artistic director of Imperial Dance Studio PH, continues to champion fitness through performance and choreography that encourages people to move freely.

The conversation extended beyond fitness studios. Wellness advocates from multiple industries joined the gathering, including Gold’s Gym Philippines president and CEO Mylene Dayrit, longevity doctor Dra. Carissa Canlas, Stuff’d PH business development manager Charmaine Tan, and Anytime Fitness member relations specialist Jennifer Perez.

Together, they illustrated the many pathways through which wellness can enter daily life.

For Joyful Wellness, the event resonated deeply.

The platform was created with the hope of empowering people to pursue healthier, more intentional lives. The Do it Lady! campaign reflects that same aspiration. It invites women to experience movement as celebration.

Toward the end of the afternoon, participants joined brief activity segments. Some moved with confidence, others with curiosity, and a few, myself included, with a touch of hesitation.

Still, there was a quiet realization in that moment.

Representing wellness is one thing.

Choosing to participate in it, even awkwardly, is another.

The most meaningful wellness movements begin when people decide to step forward and embody the very energy they hope to share.

As Do it Lady! continues across Megaworld Lifestyle Malls throughout March, it carries that spirit forward—encouraging women to discover strength, balance, and vitality through shared experience.
And sometimes, the first step toward becoming well is simply this:
Showing up.
