Across the region’s rapidly changing healthcare sector, progressive organizations understand that premier medical practice requires pairing bold leadership with an active commitment to environmental sustainability and community well-being.

At the 13th Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability (ACES) Awards held in Kuala Lumpur, Healthway Medical Network and Healthway Far Eastern University–Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation (FEU–NRMF) Medical Center captured major regional honors, underscoring a shared, unwavering commitment to transformative healthcare standards.

Healthway awarded for network-wide green initiatives

Healthway’s Green Initiative Award celebrates the network’s organizational dedication to environmental stewardship, eco-efficient facility management, and sustainable clinical operations.

Through a strategic partnership with ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions, 80 percent of the hospital network is now powered by 100 percent renewable energy, complemented by climate-smart infrastructure upgrades and automated lighting networks. Simultaneously, the deployment of robust enterprise platforms like Arcus Air digitizes medical records, effectively eliminating administrative paper waste while enhancing data security and patient safety.

Furthermore, through rigorous biohazard protocols, specialized thermal treatment, and strict waste segregation, only 5 percent of hazardous waste reaches landfills, while general waste is upcycled into community assets and wastewater meets stringent standards.

“Receiving this award is a proud validation of our brand promise—Care Beyond Cure. As part of AC Health and the Ayala ecosystem, we believe true healthcare extends beyond treating illness to actively protecting the environment that sustains our communities,” said Dr. Maria Corazon Consunji, Group COO of Healthway Hospitals.
